MICHELLE Pratt - B.Sc.Biol, B.Sc.PT, MCPTA, RCAMT

Michelle's education includes a Bachelor of Science in Biology (1997) from Acadia University in Nova Scotia and a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy (2001) from the University of Alberta. She recently earned her Certificate of Intermediate Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy, through the Orthopedic Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. These pursuits have updated her education in new evidence-based practice and advanced manual therapy skills.

Michelle's experience as an athlete began with a ten-year figure skating career, until a sports injury limited her competition to the pool for a couple of years. An interest in team sports led her to play varsity rugby, where she developed from Rookie of the Year to Most Valuable Player over her four years at Acadia. During her physiotherapy degree, she began running marathons: completing her first of six to date. This has evolved to sprint triathlons and to training for her next challenge - the 2005 Stony Plain Half-Ironman. She currently plays hockey with the Ice Pack in the Southern Alberta Women's Hockey League.

Michelle demonstrates success with her clientele through individualized treatment plans that match a person's specific goal for their lifestyle. The dynamic, active approach of The Downtown Sports Clinic is an excellent framework for her to achieve great outcomes with a wide variety of clients.
